JONESBORO – Introduction to Government Contracting, Tuesday, March 5th, 1-4 pm at the ASU Delta Center for
Economic Development. Instructors: David Jerome and staff from Arkansas Procurement Assistance Center. FREE seminar but must register.
- SUMMARY: Federal, state and local governmental agencies are looking to buy products and services from Arkansas small businesses! The Federal government alone will spend more than $500 BILLION a year on everything from paper clips to space stations… event catering to lawn care… transportation services to computer technology… AND they want to buy from you! JONESBORO – Get Listed Locally- Get Found with Local Search, Tuesday, March 12th. 2 SESSIONS: 1-4 pm and again 6-9 pm at the ASU Delta Center for Economic Development. Instructor: Herb Lawrence, ASU SBTDC.

NEW! NEWPORT – Website in a Day, Tuesday, April 2nd, 9:30 am – 3:30 pm (includes hour break for lunch) at the Newport
Business Resource Center, Newport Area Chamber of Commerce 201 Hazel Street in Newport, AR. Instructor: Herb Lawrence, ASU SBTDC.
- SUMMARY: The ASU SBTDC to host “Website in a Day.” Does your business need a website? Have you been held back by a lack of funds or a lack of technical skills? Then, Website in a Day is the hands-on workshop for you! Come sit down with the ASBTDC’s laptop lab and design a free website using Weebly. You’ll be taken step-by-step through creating a free account and creating an attractive, functional, five-page website.
- All participants receive a free 20-page workbook with detailed instructions. The ASBTDC is able to present this seminar at no cost to Arkansas small business owners due to a joint partnership with Connect Arkansas, a private, nonprofit corporation dedicated to increasing high-speed internet and adoption throughout Arkansas.

JONESBORO – Arkansas Sales and Use Tax, Tuesday, April 9th, 1-4 pm at the ASU Delta Center for Economic Development. Instructors: Arkansas Tax Associates staff.
- SUMMARY: This 3 hour workshop is designed to inform business owners of current sales tax laws, help them prevent over payment of sales tax, educate them about the increased risk of audits that they face due to increased compliance audits and show them how to protect themselves from failure to comply with new regulations. The seminar also covers state of Arkansas Incentives and Tax Credits that are available to many eligible businesses.

You will also learn how to include social media marketing efforts such as Facebook, Twitter and blogs into your website for synergy.

BATESVILLE – 6 Nights Operation JumpStart for Start-Up Businesses, begins Thursday, April 11th for 6 consecutive
Thursdays, 6-9 pm at the University Of Arkansas Community College in Batesville.
- SUMMARY: Launching a successful new venture isn’t easy! This 6 night program for entrepreneurs walks you through all the aspects of starting a new business using proven entrepreneurship training program from Operation JumpStart. Each night you will cover pieces of your business plan that will help launch your business successfully. In addition to the easy to use curriculum, each night will feature area entrepreneurs and professionals in their fields to guide you through the process.
